House Church began in the spring of 2023 with a simple invitation.

My wife, Alli, and I opened our home to gather with a small group of people who wanted to pray, worship, and encourage one another. We believed God was inviting us into a season of healing, deeper community, and renewed faith. What began around a breakfast table and in our basement quickly became something far bigger than we could have imagined.

Each week more people came. Friends invited friends. Families gathered to worship, study Scripture, pray together, and share life. Before long, our basement was full, so we transformed our pole barn into a place where our growing church family could gather.

It was during those early months that we realized God wasn’t simply giving us a temporary meeting place. He was planting a church.

We stepped into church planting with very little experience but a deep desire to follow wherever the Lord led. We sought wisdom from pastors, mentors, and other church planters while continually asking the Holy Spirit to shape who we were becoming. From the very beginning, our prayer has been simple: build Your Church, not ours.

The name House Church reflects a conviction that has shaped us from day one. The Church is not a building. It is the people of God. While we gather on Sundays, we believe discipleship begins in our homes, around our tables, and within our everyday lives. Healthy churches are built from healthy households that love Jesus and love one another.

As our church family continued to grow, God opened the door for us to partner with incredible local ministries. In early 2025, we moved from our property to our current location at The Blessing House on Levi Road. This season marked a new chapter. What God had been cultivating in a quieter season was now being sent outward to reach our communities throughout Southwest Iowa.

Since then, God has continued to do more than we could have imagined. House Groups have multiplied across the region. Weekly Bible studies continue to grow. We now gather for two Sunday services and partner with other churches throughout Southwest Iowa to pray, worship, and advance the Gospel together.

Today, we are preparing to build a permanent church home on six acres along Levi Road. More than constructing a building, we believe God is establishing an equipping center where people can be discipled, trained, and sent to carry the Gospel into every town throughout Southwest Iowa.

Our vision reaches far beyond one location. We long to see healthy, Spirit-filled communities established throughout our region so that people don’t have to travel far to find biblical teaching, authentic relationships, and a church family where they can grow in Christ.
 
We believe the best days are still ahead. As God continues to build His Church, our prayer remains the same as it was in our living room in 2023:

Lord, build Your Kingdom. We’ll simply be faithful to follow.
